How to seal an ampoule in evacuated and encapsulated annealing?

I am planning to anneal my samples that should not be exposed to oxygen in evacuated and encapsulated ampoule. May you share the knowledge about the process? After the vacuum in ampule is created with a pump, how do we seal it? What to do with the pump if it cannot be suddenly be exposed to air. Would the samples be sucked out the ampoule?

You could back fill the ampoule with N2 or Ar if you don't want to leave the sample under vacuum. When you heat the neck of the ampoule, give it a twist to close it off.
