I am trying to use recycled materials to grow microgrren seeds. so I will use egg cartons and Sawdust. But I am worry about microorganisms on these material.
The microflora on egg cartons will largely depend on its previous use and storage before using it for other purposes.
After production of the cartons the material is quite dry, so not a good basis for microflora to grow abundantly.
Thus, use and storage after use are the main items to worry about.
Using UV disinfection is one of the methods of disinfecting egg cartons.
