I want to analyze LFP data recorded with tetrodes and I am interested in theta band. But the big problem now is I have large artifacts caused by movement and physical touch between drive cup with chamber wall. I am wondering whether there is a way to get rid of it. Thanks!
Usually, particular LFP band (e.g. theta) is analyzed by first removing the noise outside the frequency band of interest with band pass filter. In Matlab, you can use built-in function 'butter' and 'filtfilt' for avoiding phase distortion.

Filtering works but should not be the first action. Try to get to the source of the noise, especially when you have a credible suspect and work from there. Proper grounding and avoidance of ground loops will also help for wide bandwidth.
Hi Botir！ Thanks for your answer. The problem is I couldn't repeat the whole experiments now. That is why I care more about filtering than how to prevent noise.
