I advise you to apply Vaseline or Mustard oil daily in both the nostrils and use face mask. This will help in preventing the airborne infections. Further,I advise you to do pranayam and yoga daily in morning and eat immune boosting foods. I have suggested these measures to many persons in India and other countries and by the kind grace of God, all were benefited.
Standard anti-pandemic and sanitary safety rules should be observed (e.g. wearing protective masks, maintaining a social distance of at least 2 meters, frequent washing of hands or using gloves, disinfection of devices that are touched) and frequent cleaning of air conditioning devices. The rooms should be aired from time to time. All rooms and devices should be disinfected at night using appropriate systems and devices designed for this purpose.
This is a beautiful question from the point of view of medical science. But I come from the world of behavioral science. So ideally, I should not attempt to answer this question. But your question is so interesting that I cannot stop myself from answering it.
You have asked about how to protect ourselves from SARS COV-2 or any other air borne disease, particularly when we are inside an air conditioned room. Doctor, from the point of view of behavioral science, let me tell you that behavioral scientists believe that we cannot keep ourselves protected in the environment that you are talking about. The only way to protect ourselves is to follow the basic rules that doctors have told us, which is applicable to all types of environments.
In behavioral sciences we believe that pandemics like this are results of human stupidity at a global level. These are not the creations of one or two individuals, or one or two countries. Everybody living is responsible. So to keep ourselves protected, everybody living today, should put an effort together. Today one country is imposing lock down. Its neighboring nation is lifting lock down. This way we cannot keep ourselves protected. Somehow we seem to have forgotten that we are all tied together with the same string.
Please forgive me because I took this discussion to a different direction.

Yes, this is an important issue in the field of anti-pandemic safety. Frequent cleaning of filters in ventilation and air-conditioning systems is essential. Thank you,
