Sentinel-2 imagery granules downloaded from AWS archives (http://sentinel-pds.s3-website.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com) have a little different data structure than the original granule sub-folders of ESA SAFE product. Consequently, it seems the SNAP tool is not able to import the data as one product with metadata - and I need to process the data to level 2 (atmospherically corrected ground reflectance). Is there a way? Or is there a site which allows downloading individual granules in original SAFE data structure?

Thank you, but it does not answer my question. The software does not seem to have capability to convert level 1 imagery to level 2 - ground reflectance.

So it seems in few days ESA will start to deliver the data on per tile (granule) basis from their Data Hub in SAFE format - which is exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you, but the original question is already obsolote. Copernicus now distributes Level 1 data per granule, so no need for me to download from AWS. Moreover, even Level 2 data are now distributed on Data Hub.
Not that there are no problems with SEN2COR and maybe some of these branches on github may be solving some of them, but this is not suitable way for ordinary users - look at this branch you sent me the link to - besides it is two years old, there seems to be no documentation on what it fixes or what functionality it chages for the users - but this is not topic for this discussion.
The following library was made especially for downloading Sentinel-2 data from AWS into a .SAFE format: https://github.com/sinergise/sentinelhub
It works for S2A and S2B products. Also the download speed from AWS is better than from scihub.
