Good morning to all. I need advice on preparing nanopowder. After mixing the precursor with solvent, water, and acid, I cast my mixture. Then I dried in at room temperature for few day. Then I put it in a furnace at 800 degrees but the mixture does not change to powder? Kindly need advice on this..Tq

Under acidic conditions you will form a sol-gel structure, which does not necessarily turn into a "powder".
I attached two publications which describe the formation of silica particles under "basic" conditions, the so-called Stoeber process.
I also attached a handout, which I use as a general guide for the synthesis of nano-particles in "micro-emulsions". Page 7 on that handout describes the formation of silica particles under those conditions.
