Dear colleagues
For a study on chiral properties (actually of water, yeah, I know..) I need pure - both chiral and chemical enantiomers of 2 butanol - R 2 butanol and S 2 butanol. Just buying them from commercial sources is not a good option - since they are prepared differently and have too many impurities - both chiral and chemical - I tried to clean them by fractional distillation - to no avail.
So I am looking for an organic synthesis method - from a chiral precursor that can be pre-purified.

Enzyme maybe a good choice for their potential of chiral resolution.Using preparative chromatography and chiral column is also a good method.
