The most common washing procedure used, is to mix the crude reaction mixture with toluene and ethanol and centrifuge it. The cleaning procedure is usually repeated several times to get a clean product. Finally, the precipitate can be disperse again inorganic solvents, such as n-haxane, tolene or chloroform.
Thanks Irene for your answer. But as I said that the normal reported method does not work. I tried ethanol, methanol but no precipitate was obtained. The quantum dots got dispersed in excess of ethanol, methanol as well.
