this should be quite easy but depends a little bit on the format and the way the data are stored within the text file.

When the file looks in general like this

x1 y1 z1

x2 y2 z2

....

First start with the reading that should be like this:

fileID = fopen('yourDatafile.txt','r');

%% this means the way the data is stored in the file, here we have two elements per each row

formatSpec = '%f %f' %f;

%% the size of the array

sizeDataStorage = [3 inf];

%% read the data in

DataStorage = fscanf(fileID,formatSpec,sizeDataStorage);

If the file is separated like this

x1,y1,z1; x2,y2,z2; or something similar just read in the complete file with scanf() and afterwards parse it with split(). Split(string,delimiter) will split the complete string at the specific delimiters. You can afterwards sort them into an array like above.

At the end just plot the contour

X = [ ... ];

Y = [ ... ];

Z = [ ... ];

figure

surf(X, Y, Z)

hold on

contour3(X, Y, Z, [-1, 0, 1])

hold off

grid on

Thank you so much Thomas Pursche for your help. I tried to implement the code but it is giving an error saying ''Z must be a matrix, not a scaler or vector''. So I tried the StackOverflow solutions and modified the code. Then I got the image below that is not something I wanted. Is this because I extracted only the S21 plot data? Will you please help me by suggesting which data I should collect from the simulated breast phantom to get the contour breast tumor plots? Again very grateful for your suggestions.

could you just show how the text file looks like inside? Maybe it is possible to share or a screenshot. Or some sample lines would help a lot to see where the problem is. I think it is just a small problem an we can solve it pretty fast.

@Tasifa My project is hyperthermic treatment of cancer using biomedical antenna. The image you have shared from CST look like it is SAR plot. I want to show that maximum SAR is at tumor location. For that i am using four applicators and the SAR distribution is visible on the surface but deep inside at the tumor location. I can not see anything. By anything i mean i cannot see whether max SAR is at tumor location or is it just on surface.
