You can calculate the energy band diagram with density functional theory (VASP, Quantum Espresso, GPAW, etc.). For plotting itself I recommend Python using the Pymatgen library.

I have a doubt that:
1. On what basis should we decide the size of the matrix. In many papers i have found different matrix size used e.g. 4 X 4 or 8 X 8 or 16 X 16 .... etc
2. I am working on strained Cylindrical nanowire.... What will be the change in the equation for band gap energy and current.
