I collect data on 5 point likert scale for 41 factors of delay in construction project. Then for the analysis I have to do U statistics test (mann-whitney). But don"t understand how to proceed in SPSS.
For example, from 1 fig. how to calculate the second fig. Table IV.
In the SPSS Data Editor (see attachment), you should have 41 rows, Use the first 'var' column to identify the factors, e.g. called 'id'. You shouls have at least 2 additional columns: one for the rankings and one for your independent variable, e.g. 'groups'.
Then proceed to the Mann-Whitney U test:

Depending on how many independent variables you have, you will need to do 41 separate Mann-Whitney tests. As an alternative, you might consider creating multi-item scales from your Likert-scored variables. Here is a link to some resources I have gathered on this topic:
