I prepared HAuCl4.3H2O from the reaction of metallic gold and aqua regia. But due to overheating, my product converted to dark brown (Which I suspect due to the formation of AuCl). Is there any mild oxidizing agents that can produce my desired product from AuCl?

Hi Yeakub Zaker , just in case that the problem hasn't been solved yet: Thermal decomposition of tetrachloroauric acid indeed leads to the formation of AuCl. This is in fact a common method to prepare gold(I) chloride. Pure AuCl is pale yellow. My suggestion would be to start all over again and try to dissolve everything in aqua regia. Once you have a clear solution, you can evaporate the aqua regia at ca. 100 °C with the aid of a water jet pump. In order to evaporate remaining nitric acid, the crude product should be redissoved in conc. HCl and evaporated under normal pressure until a melt is formed which then solidifies on cooling.
