In nucleate boiling regime, numerous vapour bubbles originate at the microscopic surface defects (cavities). When surface temperature is further increased, these vapour bubbles coalesce fast and form a continuous vapor layer which prevents direct contact between the liquid phase and the solid surface. The effect is well known Leidenfrost phenomenon which reduces heat transfer coefficient drastically with increase in vaporization time. Transient evolution of this vapour film is rather intriguing and any thought on the temporal evolution of the vapour film (modelling approach) will be much appreciated.
