I am simulating 12/10 SPM motor in FEA software for determining the performance under magneto static conditions. Initial design has been made through analytical formulas and sizing software. However my flux lines seems to be distorted. What could be the possible reason for this?
Thanks for your reply. I am analyzing only 2D geometry as of now. I have chosen surface radial magnets with alternate positive radial and negative radial magnetization.
For cogging torque calculation I am modelling phases as air/vaccum region. So in effect whether distribution of phases have a role?

I am not relating exerted distorion to cogging torque. I am trying to verify my analytical design by FEA. If my design is correct, flux lines must not be distorted.but it is getting distorted.
I am attaching the image. If you zoom it , you can see that flux lines are going out of the stator radius .
