Hi! I'm working in the electrical characterization of amorphous carbon thin films by means of conductive AFM on a MFP-3D Bio AFM from Asylum Research, using the ORCA module and a Pt-Ir coated tip (Olympus AC240TM). For semiconducting and dielectric samples (oxides) I've been able to obtain good map currents and I-V curves. However, when I try to map what we assume to be more conductive samples (highly doped p-Si and low density carbon) we obtain no signal. We have verified that the probe is fine and the transimpedance amplifier is working properly (we connected a resistor to test it and the IV curve is ok). My hypothesis is that it is related to the conductivity of the samples. Does anyone has experience with that?
