Concrete filled steel tube (CFT) columns or circular concrete piles with H shaped steel profile can be modeled with SAP's Section Builder tool. If you are going to perform some nonlinear analysis, you can directly use Section Builder. But if you want to run the conventional elastic analysis and then design the section, you need to define the steel part of the section (in the section builder) as reinforcement for the concrete. This simple technique gives acceptable approximate results. You can also perform your analysis with SAP or ETABS and check your section capacity by CSI Column.
