I found research that states that, "... dry weight and corresponding nitrogen content of phytoplankton calculated following standard method (Jorgensen et al. 2000)" However, I did not find an equation that can show how to calculate nitrogen content in phytoplankton. Can you not measure the N content? The modern method is combustion and gas analysis. The old method is Kjeldahl
