I am looking for people who can help in mapping Urmia Lake Playa surface formation and development using remote sensing. as each playa surface varies in reflectance and moisture, remote sensing would probably be a helpful technic in mapping playa units.

In playas like lake Uromieh I think the indices such as NDSI could be used. Also hyperspectral images from for example Hyperion or FieldSpec spectroscopy could show relationships with salinity. The effects of moisture may be revealed by some other indices or measurements.
Also consider the possible auxiliary data like landscape derived indices like DEM and near surface measurements with EM38.
