I am from India, where we have dust every where. No matter how frequent we clean, dust keeps on settling like you see in interstellar movie. Its tiring repetitive process of little use to blow/suck air and still over time, sticky dust are on every bump on walls, creeks on windows, etc.
Are there any creative effective ways of handling dust or preventing them in first place? I thought of crazy budget solutions like
1. 24/7 Misty minute water spray from pillars around the house, so as to bring down dust particles at least in my house environment
2. Super hydrophobic paint (can they be anti dust as well?) or super slippery painting or cementing?
I do not know if they work, and if I could afford, so I hit a wall here, looking for help.

The best and most effective way of getting rid of dust is to plant a lot of trees and cover the land with grass and plants.... because dust comes mainly from very thin particles of soil..... cover the soil with grass and plan some trees, and the problem will go away or will greatly improve.... the best example is in Europe. It is the cheapest solution as well, because not only it will combat dust and improve the environment, but it will also improve the health of the population, which saves millions and possibly billions on combating diseases associated with dust and pollution.

Is it possible to provide large wet cloth in front of window when dust is available.?
We in India, especially in cities live in cramped spaces. We have typically no big space like back yard to grow plants. However wherever space available I am seriously thinking to give a try. However, while I could cover ground with lawn and plants wehrever possible, how about dust at heights. My house is next to road (though not a main road), so if I go for trees, what are those that grow within an year for about 9 or 10 ft to give a cover there?
And in option 1, I am confused as I observe contradictory relationship between humidity and dust. Can 80 to 100% RH bring down dust in air or not?
Are you looking for a tree that grows 9 to 10 feet per year (good luck with that - most trees in the States grow at about 1 foot or less per year) or one that stops growing at 9 to 10 feet tall? Looking for deciduous or coniferous?
Looking for at least 6 to 7 ft in an year. Any type that could give shade all over year as much as possible.
Do you mean how to manage dust at home. There are many ways to control dust at home, such as, running an air purifier, using fabric softener, and cleaning bedding weekly. In addition to that, using the right cleaning supplies is essential in controlling the home dust.
I completely agree with you, Messaoud. Plant tress and grasses to trap and encapsulate those tiny dust particles.
I agree with planting specially applying grass and bushes around houses. In this way not only dust is controlled, but also it helps to moderate temperature of the environment in the bigger scale.
But the space between house and road is just 1 or 2 feet max... Will grass cover in between could still help? Please check out the space here.

Typically indian city houses r built to cover almost all of area they have leaving very little space between them and road.
