i am trying to make solid state charge transfer complex between Tetracyanoquinodimethane and graphene. almost all the references are based on theoretical study. please help me to get the procedure if there is some reports.
Solid state charge transfer complexes are generally produced when one material is deposited on top of one another or alternatively when both the materials are deposited by co-evaporation. The charge transfer state being more stable and hence charge gets transferred from one molecule to another spontaneously. It is a thermodynamically favorable process.
It's formation can be checked by recording its absorption spectrum. Films prepared from both the materials will show new absorption bands if there is charge transfer complex formation. In the absence of charge transfer complex formation, the absorption spectra will the sum of the absorption spectra of individual components.
