How do I do an organized search e.g . AIR POLLUTION IN Low Middle income country?
Say I have Zero knowledge about it.
What should I read first?
This is how I'm doing right now
- I look into 1. Wikipedia 2. Google news 3. Google Scholar
- I read some of the reviews.
But I loose track of what I read from where, i tried using zotero, and endnote, but eventually I loose interesting things.
How do you find out
1. The policy regarding the issue e.g. Air pollution control
2. Monitoring and evaluation - who does it, where is the report, what changed?
3. How was it implemented? How was the community sensitized?
Open a note pad, copy the title and abstract and keep the site link. This is the simple way to keep information. You can use word also, find function will work there.
PubMed is usually my first search engine, you can combine as many terms as you wish and get relevant literature.
Get key words or phrases through discussion, Begin with general search on constructs only. Initially read just the abstract, You begin to understand the topic. Now come up with more precise key words. Then move to pair of constructs. Use Boolean search option for instance "Variable 1" & "Variable 2" you would find the things begin to appear as you like.
