If you have NMR data, a) count how many methyl groups in 1H spectrum, b) count how many C, CH, CH2, CH3 in the 13C spectrum. From these info, you almost have what kind of cpd in you mind.

I had also isolated beta-sitosterol and performed the NMR too. I can provide you the details of the NMR spectra which I obtained. You can check with the data and analyse your compound also. If you have the FTIR spectra please send that also.
