I have electropolymerized a polymer film on Glassy carbon electrode surface from a monomer solution by cyclic voltammetry potentiodynamically for 20 scans. Can any body tell me how to determine the number of monomer units used or simply the molecular weight of the polymer film? Thank you!
Is quite impossible to do it. But is a dream in chemistry.
Molecular weight is so complex, to be determined by this way.
Even mass spectra may fail to give us precise result. Electron transfer process is complex, and happen at surface of electrode.

To determine the molar mass of the obtained polymer, you need to collect the material from the electrode surface and perform size exclusion chromatography (SEC) analysis, or gel permeation chromatography. Is your polymer soluble?
