How to keep water pressure constant when modelling excavation in saturated soil with Abaqus?

For my thesis, I have to model an excavation in saturated soil in three steps. The problem is when I remove the soil from the model to perform a step of the excavation, water pressure should remain unchanged. Because, in the experiment first soil is removed and then water is pumped extracted with water pumps. Does anyone know how to model such an excavation in Abaqus? Thanks

Dear Ege,

If you want to make water pressure is constant during the excavation, then, it is better to define water pressure in terms boundary conditions..for example: you want to make water pressure is constant closer to excavation, then, you define the boundary conditions in those region. i feel you have to verify your modelling procedure adopted for the study..
