Hi, currently I simulation 3D milling operations.

I found the Johnson-Cook strength and failure model that I would like to use.

However, I am having issues with inputting the correct damage evaluation's fracture energy value.

For my damage evaluation i am using the energy linear softening type.

Regarding the fracture energy, I couldn't find many researches that discussed the values they inputted there. Instead just the integration of the fracture energy equation was given.

,After doing further research I found an equation that states that, the fracture energy is a function of : the material's fracture toughness, modulus of elasticity, and Poisson ratio. I attached the image of the equation in figure 2.

I found the equation referenced in the work of Zhang et al in their paper titled . "Chip formation in orthogonal cutting considering interface limiting shear stress and damage evolution based on fracture energy approach".
