I am using PFC (Itasca) software to simulate dense sand, in which the Linear model is employed and the particle shape is randomly irregular.

During the calibration process to match the test results, the ultimate stress and the corresponding strain could be matched satisfying, but the residual strength is much lower than the tested data.

The red line in the appended image is the aiming residual strength.
