I have attached here broadband biconical antenna design of mine. at 40 GHz how can I improve the radiation pattern of this antenna? which parts of this antenna should I vary to make more stable radiation pattern at 40 GHz frequency range?
In which direction would you like to improve? Perhaps you would prefer a truly circular symmetric pattern?Dont forget about (the possible excitation of) higher order modes on this type of antenna which have an impact on the radiation pattern.
Thank you sir Fritz Caspers . yes I prefer a circular perfect dipole symmetric pattern at 40 GHz frequency. but when frequency increased, radiation pattern became unstable with various ripples. So, I want to know how can I make a stable radiation pattern at 40 GHz?
Maybe it would be good first to read a bit more on conical transmission lines ..those models are used in tapers ..and you may try to use an image plane i.e. just ONE cone on a metal ground plane...its long time ago (1978) when I worked with this kind of structures..
