How to improve my research skills on software technology area(Software development/ Software research/ Data Science/ Software Testing/ Security...etc.). And how to develop my career as a Researcher.
Researchers are generally recognized on a few metrics. The grants and funding they receive for their work and their publications in reputable journals and conferences. Depending on what kind of research you would like to do (experimental, theoretical, validation) you should start by reading. Read and research papers in the area that you are interested. This way you can find a problem to solve or contribute to, you can see how people in your field communicate , and you can gain knowledge on your subject. I would recommend to look at the papers and not only take what you should do, but what you shouldn't (what makes a paper easier to read or follow vs harder to understand). You will want to be as clear as possible with your own research. Then I would find a mentor and start a project.
