I need to coat a thin film of commercially available BaTiO3 nano particles on a substrate with a good adhesive property! Need to use this film as a piezo film to generate power!
Please suggest any solvent or polymer to make this possible?
1) Firstly using simply commercially available BaTiO3 nano power, you cannot make a film. The thin film is a continuous film, it cannot be made using nano particles.
2) However you can use fine nano particles, make a slurry in some kind of binder material, coat it on a substrate, and use the thick film processing. Such films wil be quite thick though, and depends on the particle size. You have to sinter at a high temperature, so that the binder burns out, and leave sintered BaTiO3 layer. Achieving a good density, and a pore free film is the main challenge.
3) Alternately people use a variety of thin film deposition methods, like sputtering, thermal evaporation, PLD, all these involve quite an expensive machinery, and even then a good quality BaTiO3 film is not guranteed.
