Can virtual reality applications be used to create awareness? For industry 4.0, How to follow a path for virtual reality and augmented reality in terms of the potential for transforming education?
It is important to understand the location of AR on the "Reality-Virtuality Continuum". While VR requires more complex hardware, the Augmented Reality hardware is already widely available (most smart phones have 2 cameras and fast processors, enabling video see-through AR). Moreover AR is closer to Real (as in theory < 50% of the scene should be virtual), making it much faster accepted by users.
The transforming potential for VR/AR (nowadays encompassed in XR - Cross Reality) is in the capability to enable 3D visualization (3D data + 3D displays) and interaction. Most abstract/hard to understand concepts can be explained in a new way through these novel 3D interfaces. Deployment on a large scale is on the verge to happening and Learning Management Systems may be the catalyst for large scale deployment.
From the Industry 4.0 perspective, interconnection and information transparency are good starting points on this path.
For the perspective from education, you can have a look at our project here: https://www.researchgate.net/project/Augmented-Reality-in-Physics-Lab-Courses
We are still in development of the software but it looks really promising for teaching students some hard to grasp concepts of electro optical effects and their application.
Thank you for valuable responses Dear Mr. Felix Hamza Lup , Dear Mr. Dennis Meyer and Dear Mr. Vinh T. Nguyen . I would like to read and review your work as soon as possible. I'II give you the feedback soon. Thanks again.
In general, I think of these digital technologies as a tool that enables you to create in the virtual world what is impossible or impractical to create in the real world.
In my case, I research AR applications in historical context, VR whether with dedicated headset or just on screen is best to replicate worlds and atmospheres, while AR adds a digital layer onto the physical world that helps understand and appreciate it better.
In that sense using the scenario at hand should determine which technology is best suited for it.
Ethical considerations should FIRST be reflected on the development of VR and AR (or mixed VR), consdiering its exceptional versatility.

Education can be drastically reformed to be user-centered and user-friendly using AR and VR, even worldwide. It will also reduce the educational costs. But universities still mind in adapting such an advanced technology. I am concerned about the severe delays. The world is already changing so fast; for your information, please see here: https://www.minerva.kgi.edu/; http://www.davincicoders.com/
