I calculated vertical wind shear and gradient Richardson number using model output variables. however, i want to separate gravity wave signals from shear and Richardson number in the UTLS (upper troposphere lower stratosphere) region. is there any algorithms/routine to filter this?
PS: i am considering gravity waves patterns from divergence or vertical velocity.
Dear Madhuri Umbarkar To my understanding, there is no single calculation exist to describe anything of nature, including gravity. Example: gravity on Earth is working under influence of temperature, pressure and mass of object, not Newtonian calculation of weight. All of mathematics are one dimension, static and do not recognize temperature and pressure of three dimensions. Read my paper for more details.
