I would be interested to know various firing strategies applied by top executives to remove ethical, honest, productive and loyal employee from the organization who might be the threat for boss.
This was one f the most disturbing questions I've seen on this website. My first response was to question why anyone would want to fire the type of employee that organizations need most. Could you clarify why you are asking this question?
The reason is politics and power in organization. The corrupt or incompetent bosses on the top creates their own gang and honest people do not fit in their portfolio. Therefore, they left with only one option to remove them. I have come across various cases where most productive and loyal employees were fired by unethical bosses. This question has been asked to get more opinion and issues from experts to share their views.
I also share Jennifer's concern. Why do you need to fire an honest employee? If the boss is corrupt or unreasonable, s/he needs to have the power to withstand the consequences of firing a loyal employee. Often they are able to do so.
At the same time, I would say that politics is not necessarily a bad word. There are some who do politics of justice. They ask for correcting the wrongs to people or to themselves. That is also politics, and for a genuine cause. But if an employee is doing politicking or politics of disruption with mala fide intention, then s/he may not be an honest/loyal employee.
I think you need to be more precise in your question. In the present form it is not quite clear as to what you want.
I also do feel that honest and loyal employee sacking should not take place. Instead there should be some mechanism so that these people can get some extra support for their comfortable stay in organisation.
The third reason is corruption and money apart from power and politics. An honest employee becomes obstacle for executives in their commission and corruption.
The ego of the executives is another reason as incompetent executives voice is always criticized by honest employees which hurt their ego. Therefore, executives always want to remove non follower and would like to create nexus/gang of their blind followers in organization.
I have 2 cases in ....context where situations had been so chaotic that three time top executives ultimately fired. by that time, many loyal, honest, ethical employees were removed by those bosses and lots of damaged has been done with the organization and now organization at the stage of bankruptcy.
My purpose is to rationalize this issue beyond two cases...therefore shout this question in this forum.
I agree with you that there should be some mechanism to protect such people in the organization and then can keep doing best in the favor of organization. However, these bosses create such culture and environment by hiring all there non qualified employees and create gangs to disturb the honest employee.
