How to find the Oxidation state of amphibole?

Hi all,

Can anyone explain how to arrive at the oxidation state of amphibole from probe analysis. Only FeO is analyzed in the dataset. Is there any emperical method to arrive at R-value to select proper normalization methods for classification of amphiboles. Thanks
