Both formulas are approximate - the first is valid for half side to side beamwidth and the second for the total side to side beamwidth. More accurate formula for the half side to side beamwidth is K * lambda/ D, where where K is a factor which varies slightly depending on the shape of the reflector and the feed illumination pattern. For a "typical" parabolic antenna K = 70 when θ is in degrees.
