Hello everyone,

I'm working on the synthesis of chitosan derivatives for metal recovery. In this regard, I'm facing a problem during material synthesis. I have few questions to ask if anyone know the answer please help me.

My question is, I'm trying to crosslink pyridine 2 carbaldehyde to chitosan. I prepared the material, but I want to know whether the crosslinking of these two materials was happen or not. If anyone knows how to find out this please help me and suggest me related techniques which I can perform in the laboratory.

If possible, please suggest me few materials which are environmentally friendly and should have N or S or O atoms as functional groups to crosslink with chitosan. You can also suggest me some biopolymers like chitosan which contains N or S or O atoms as functional groups.

I hope I'll get some suggestions from you people.

Thank you everyone in advance.
