Generally we produce protein (which requires Folding and Glycosylation) in large scale by expressing the protein in Mammalian cells (mostly CHO cells), Suppose if the protein expressed and produced is Toxic to CHO cells, In such case what are the possible options to produce this protein apart from expressing it in other mammalian hosts like HEK 293 or any other cells which are not susceptible to this protein ?

If toxicity is an issue, the protein could be produced by Pichia pastoris that is capable to add the necessary post-translational modifications.
