I am trying to show the variation of various parameters along the length of a device in silvaco. I am able to generate a tonyplot from the .str file but am not able to export the data. I need to plot the numbers on a log-log scale and also do some fitting (trying to make the plots in excel or origin). In the general .log files that are generated, I am able to export, but that does not work for .str files.
you need to take the cutline through the length of your device and choose the parameter you want to plot. Then you can go with the usual way of exporting data in .dat file.

You can export anything from a .str file by using the extract command at the end of your program. For instance the following code would extract the conduction band, valence band, and E field:

# extract data from the structure files for export purposes

extract init infile="GaNRTD_init.str"
extract name="Conduction Band" curve(depth, impurity="Conduction Band Energy" material="All" x.val=0.005) outfile="GaNRTD_init.dat"
extract name="Valence Band" curve(depth, impurity="Valence Band Energy" material="All" x.val=0.005) outfile="GaNRTD_init_VB.dat"
extract name="Electric Field" curve(depth, impurity="E Field" material="All" x.val=0.005) outfile="GaNRTD_init_EF.dat"
So by using this you can extract any of the parameters you can see when you do a cutline. You can also look at different locations in space by using the probe command, but it doesn't sound like you need to do that.

When you open tonyplot , in main screen, tool bar and file menu
In end of file menu , you see ..info...
That's mean information
You can enter in this ...info...
And seen information date for characteristics
And seen information about structure only.
