It is really a derived form of VBA (visual basic for applications). VB is one of the simplest programming languages and you should have no problems getting tutorials on this from the internet. However VBA (which CST uses) is even simpler and you just need to know some very basics to get going. CST have a formal document on this, unfortunately i cant seem to find it. Maybe try to google "CST Studio Suite VBA" or something similar.

To begin with you need to go to Macros->Make VBA Macro->Control Macro-> (enter a name, e.g. Export_Tables). Then type in the following code:

ExportPlotData "CST^DUMMY.txt"

SelectTreeItem "Tables\|S1,1| in dB"

ExportPlotData "S11_dB.txt"

The "Sub Main" and "End Sub" denote the beginning and ending of the program. CST will probably insert these for you in which case you dont need to repeat them again. In the above code I am exporting the magnitude and phase of S11 and S21 for all table values.

Once the macro is saved, it should appear at the bottom of the Macros menu.

You can then export as many tables as you like into a bunch of ASCII files with one click of a button. CST puts these files in the weirdest places. Best thing I found was to search the project folder for *.txt files to find where CST has put these.

Just one final note about running the macro, you need to highlight the tables folder (from the left pane) before you run the macro.

Macros are great once you get going with them. Using structure macros you can create all sorts of weird shapes which i have found very useful. I have found the best way to get information on structure macros is to go to the History window and select Edit. This shows the VBA code used to create the shape.

I may misunderstand you, but you can create a new folder in Navigation tree and put all results in it, then you can export all of them by ASCII format.

Reza Karimian: I know how to export them by ASCII format. But i can not select all of them at once, & exporting a plenty of tables one by one is time consuming.

As suggested by Reza, You can copy all of them together. After creating a new folder, just click on the main folder thread (instead of individual results inside the folder), then export in ASCII form. It will export all of them together. Before exporting, Make sure all results are displayed together in one CST window when u click the new result folder.

You could also do a macro for this. I can post the code if you like.

Hello,

I have seen this error before, normally it is due to a typo in the text.

For example when using "Tables\Frequency of mode 1" you need to check that there is a table entry with the exact name "Frequency of mode 1" in your tables folder. The spacings, case, etc... must match identically. Also, this table item must be ASCII compatible, you can check this by clicking this item and exporting manually from the File menu.

Also the tables folder needs to be selected just before running the macro.

I have similar problem with HFSS.

I also simulated the High Impedance Surfaces using Eigen mode solver in HFSS.

I analysed three frequency regions-But when I am trying to plot for each frequency region in HFSS Results, I am not able to select the phase values corresponding to these regions.

Can anybody please help me in this..
