Hellok, I wonder how I can estimate the expiry date of the reagents made in the laboratory.
For example, at work, I use concentrated NaOH, which I obtain by dissolving the reagent in the form of microgranules. I should describe the prepared solution with an expiration date, but I cannot find out whether it will be the same date as the starting reagent, or whether I can set a new expiration date for the solution in some other way. I have similar doubts in the case of e.g. dilution of acids - how to determine the expiry date of a diluted solution?
Does anybody knows are there any clear rules or guidelines on how should I prove that the specified expiry date is correct?

Dilute solution may be used for one week and concentrate solution may be used for longer period provided chemical solutions should have proper standards.
Dear all, my suggestion is to check the state of the solution periodicaly via spectroscopy. Any change will be detected, and if there a noticeable change, then you will have the idea when it becomes significant, to the point that the dolution is useless. My Regards

It is recommended to prepare the solution when necessary. If expired solution is to be used, it is recommended to detect its state and concentration in advance to ensure the accuracy of the experiment.
