How to establish the threshold of iso-surface contours of Q criterion?

What is the process by which one can establish the threshold of isosurface contours of Q criteria? I found some information where it says any value Q>0; but i am not getting any strong information or any paper where they have mentioned it with valid reason. Any suggestion in this would be highly appreciable.
