Hello, I encounter a problem on abaqus linked to convergence. I even reduced the size of the mesh and decreased the values related to `` arc lengh increment '' but it's still the same, I still have convergence errors. thank you.
It is important to recognise that your convergence problems could be caused by a variety of reasons. Since you mention "1U, 2U..." I assume you have encountered the error "Too many attempts made for this increment". If you have not already tried, I suggest you increase the number of cutbacks for the Riks step from the default (five).
In the Step module, go to Other > General Solution Controls > Edit > *step name*
Under Time Incrementation, increase the value of parameter IA (number of cutbacks) to, say, 25 and try resubmitting your job.
The convergence problem in ABAQUS may be caused due to several reasons such as inappropriate plasticity conditions, or lesser time increment, or minimum size for the convergence or due to unconnected regions and many others, etc. I am assuming the error encountered in your developed model may be due to size or time increment. This can be solved by modifying the time incrementation size from general solution controls available in Tools menu.
