Cast iron molds - being filled by large sand particles - are toughly degraded by erosion. Since the erosion is of brittle type toughness of the surface is of a great importance. Hardness is also important in a lower degree. What would be your solution to have a tough and hard surface on cast iron. The cost of the surface improvement is also important.
