Hi! Receptors of the mGluR group can be blocked rather specifically with many compound which became available throughout the last years (e.g. from Tocris or Sigma). This should help you to differentiate between mGluR and mAChR-mediated cellular responses. 3,5-DHPG may be a mGluR antagonist relevant for you (it´s mGluR group I specific but not absolutely selective for R1). Likewise mAch receptors can be pharmacologically antagonized.
