How to make the regression between gs and Ψ？which model is more general and well-fitted? I Tried "loess" model in R.fitplc package ,but it's not fit well as the curve deviates from the scatters.Recommend me articles or technical manuals on referred methods if possible.Thanks
Stomatal conductance
Stomatal conductance (gl) is a measure of the degree of stomatal opening and can be used as an indicator of plant water status. Stomatal conductance is related to leaf Ψ by feedback processes. Reductions in gl prevent further decreases in Ψ by reducing transpiration; also, reductions in Ψ can induce stomatal closure, resulting in lowered gl. Stomatal responses are discussed more fully in the section Stomatal Responses, below. Stomatal conductance can be measured with both dynamic and steady-state diffusion porometers.
