I need a mix design which can give me 40MPa compressive strength concrete without using coarse aggregates. I am only using sand, water, fly ash, cement and superplasticizer for the mix design. Please give me suggestions. thanks
The water-cement ratio should be lower (0.33-0.35) and content of binders (cement +other materials) should be higher than 450 kg. Superplasticizer should be in maximum (higher percent). I propose to few previous trials performed, with purpose to examination effects of specific properties of materials that will be used.
Without coarse aggregate, this is not concrete mix, this is mortar mix. It's better that you search articles about mortar containing flyash and study their mix design. They can give to you first idea for calculating your mix design
Te sugiero utilizar una relación a/c muy baja: 0.3 donde incluyas el agua del superplastificante, con una arena sílica, si usas el fly ash clase C podrías hacerlo como adición desde un 20%.
It can be of course, if you want to follow the Dreux Goriss method you need first to devide your sand into three sizes in order to have three curves that we need to plot the AOB line. Concerening the other steps you do the same mentionned in the method. For more detailed you can contacte me via this email:
Conceptually, there is no concrete composite without coarse aggregate. However, for limited volumes, for example, it can be used primarily in structural reinforcement, Grout microconcrete (fluid or thixotropic concrete with low shrinkage, self-compacting and high initial strength).
