I am trying to derive py curves from Plaxis 3D, modeling piles with volume elements. But I am faced with a logical problem: If the bottom of the pile is to experience a high stress then yields, then the top of the pile would long have reached collapse.

How is it possible to turn around this problem?

Also, how real field testing solved this problem? This seams a field related problem as well?
