An expression of loss factor is in the Peter's Hedvig book [1] on page 162 in the chapter "A direct recording dielectric spectrometer" (see attachment). How can it be derived?

Dear Jan, Dr. Hedvig was my first mentor and boss - I will always be indebted to him. His book was published in 1977 which is still a useful introduction to dielectric spectroscopy, but the experimental technique developed a lot since then. He used lock in detectors to measure directly signals which are proportional to the capacitive and resistive currents. From the first one could calculate the capacitance value, which should be divided by the geometrical capacitance to obtain the real part of the permittvitiy. From the second one could calculate the conductance (reciprocal of resistivity), form which one can calculate the specific volume conductivity (sigma), which translates to the imaginary part of permittivity (loss) as follows: eps" = sigma/(eps(0)*omega) where eps(0) is the vacuum permittivtiy and omega is the circular frequency. Modern impedance or RLC meters and dielectric spectrometers provide the same data but in a broader frequency range.
