I have polymerized the methyl methacrylate ( MMA) in teflon mould ( which is an opened square box of teflon having a certain height) After the polymerization is complete, I tried to demould or remove the thick Polymerized Sheet of PMMA, but i failed.
What is the possible way to remove the sheet from teflon mould.
Also the thickness( height from the base of teflon) of polymerized sheet is half of the Added MMA syrup. Any reason? Way to maintain the thickness?

You can use a relase agent or even a silicone wax on the wall of the mold before molding or casting. Normally PMMA shrinks upon polymerization. Regards

Only part of the MMA is polymerising, if I understand you correctly? This could be due to (a) MMA poorly mixed with catalyst. (b) If using UV and a photocatalyst, UV isn't penetrating the mixture fully (hard bit on top) (c) too little catalyst + mould on warm surface (hard bit on bottom). MMA shouldn't need additional heat to polymerise if catalyst ratio is correct. The main danger is that it will overheat with too much catalyst!
