I am doing a transient analysis on a horn antenna using HFSS transient. I know that I need to define a so-called ground plane to which the wave port is attached and that is how I would be able to have a terminal on that port. However, I cannot really figure out what can be a ground plane for a horn configuration.
I am going to suggest a work around this problem that I used, but I don't know if it's the best solution. You can include a coax-to-waveguide transition as your input to the horn (as shown in the picture attached). In the coax you can define the waveport and the centre conductor as your terminal.
I quite like the idea. I was actually going to add a small piece as the GND and ignore the phase errors. However, this one seems to be a much more aesthetic approach. Thanks Mohamed!
