While using microchannels for vapor compression refrigeration system if we blend nanofluid, sometime microchannels gets clog. How to prevent it from clogging.?
Do you continuously add the nanoparticles (NPs), or periodically? What is the concentration of the NPs? As an example, you could lower the concentration but inject over a prolonged period of time. What are the NPs suspended in? Do they aggregate or is the dispersion homogeneous? Maybe providing ultrasonic agitation to the NP dispersion could help.
What is the geometry of the channels? What is the flow rate?
Some simple things to try would be to increase the flow rate, pulse the flow rate, initiate a cycle of forward/reverse flow, clean the channels with DI water, ethanol, isopropanol or mixed solutions of these solvents with DI water.
Generally it is better to try and optimise the conditions to prevent blockage in the first place (e.g., by careful channel design, flow rate, addition of a surfactant).
@ Jules Lloyd Hammond I have periodically added nano- particle, I have utilized Al2O3 with R600a with surfactants but the problem still arising, And the problem is occurring in evaporator during phase change..I am trying to incorporate micrchannel evaporator in some HVAC ....
